Keys to Cultivate Resilience To Dissolve Anti-Blackness

This is part of March’s “Our Public Memory” PIES Spiritual Practice on Healing Our Shame. If you missed this newsletter, read it here.

One of our incredible healers that presented at February’s virtual healing circle on anti-blackness, somatic transformational coach Mika Gainer, did a powerful presentation on Karen Curry Parker’s Quantum Alignment System and the nine resiliency keys of human design we can use to heal the pain and trauma of anti-blackness.

The nine keys are:

  1. Lovability: How much love you believe you can receive, experience and give.

  2. Empowerment: How free you feel to fully express your Authentic Self.

  3. Courage: How well you are able to navigate through fear without letting it paralyze you.

  4. Emotional Wisdom:  Your ability to use emotional energy as a creative source of power and  to be deliberate, not reactive.

  5. Decisiveness:  Your ability to know how to make decisions that are good and right for you.

  6.  Self-Trust: The degree to which you trust your inner wisdom and trust in your own abilities.

  7.  Self-Worth:  Your self-esteem and your sense of your own value.

  8.  Vitality:  How much energy you have to do the things you want and need to do in your life.

  9.  Empowerment:  How much control and power you feel like you have over creating your life.

Gainer recommended focusing on one resiliency key which resonates with you the most and incorporating an affirmation in your everyday life.

That mantra is: “My true self heals with [resiliency key]. I am remembered.  I honor each person’s [resiliency key] as true. They belong.”

Gainer talked about how internalizing stories about anti-blackness can deplete these resiliency keys.

She then used breathing techniques to bring attention to points on the body at the naval center, heart center, and then resting in the forehead center.
